Welcome to Sterrett Gardens
Welcome to our garden in 2008. We have many new varieties in the garden this year and are eager to share them with you. Please come and visit! Also, be sure to enjoy our web site with many pictures, and instructions on how to order.
We continue to welcome visitors to our official American Hemerocallis Display Garden. We are open on Saturday, June 14, 21, 28, July 2-July 6, July 12 and 19 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
To visit our garden on Virginia's Eastern Shore on the Delmarva Peninsula, either travel north from Virginia Beach or south from Salisbury, Maryland on RT 13 to Exmore, VA, turn north on Rt. 178 (traffic light at the Exxon station). Go about 1 mile and turn left at the Trustworthy Hardware Store (still Rt. 178N) toward Craddockville. Go about four miles (road winds a bit), bear right at Craddockville United Methodist Church and go about 1 mile. Turn left onto Island Neck Road and go to the end. We are the last home on the left - cream with blue shutters and lots of daylilies.
We ship at least a double fan. If you wish to have substitutions of equal or greater value, please include a list of suitable substitutes. We include bonus plants worth approximately 20% of the order for orders under $100, 40% for those over $100! Please list suggestions. We offer a collection of 10 varieties (our choice) for $35. When ordering a collection, please let us know if you prefer a particular range of colors. All plants are freshly dug and individually labeled. Our garden is state inspected and we continue to maintain a preventative spray schedule. Shipping charges are $8 plus $0.50 per plant over three plants. The minimum order is $20. We ship by priority mail (service with UPS is not satisfactory from the Eastern Shore of Virginia). We generally ship on Monday with plants arriving in two to three days. Virginia residents must add 5% sales tax. Wholesale prices of selected varieties are available upon request.
Glorious Gardening,
Rich & Rikki Sterrett

We have a policy in the garden of letting children (<16 years old) select the daylily of their choice from the field. If we have sufficient quantity, we dig a double fan for them to take home for their garden. We have found that this is a great way to get youth excited about gardening and while they are deciding on their very favorite, the parents have a chance to look around too.
